The Storm Poem by Henry Igbinedion

The Storm

Behind jealous clouds
Peeped the Sun at shrouded Earth
Star crossed skies paled sickly as
Pompous stars hid their glitter

Swirling riots of air
fanned across the horizon. Oblivious of dancing flora…
In the bushes, beasts scampered.

Then, Celestial fireworks
cracked the Earth's roof and
The heavens clapped angry flashes of light leaking liquid silver.

Earthbound,
Ululating, urchins gambolled, as
Rivers of earth
layered our loamy streets
