The Storm In My Mind Poem by Virgil Howard

The Storm In My Mind

Rating: 2.8

The anger burns,
with a raging flame,
the heart is played,
like a savage game.

The jealousy grows,
and swallows all,
and destroys anyone,
that is lead by its call.

The sadness weakens,
as it loses to joy,
It engulfs the heart,
of the lonely boy.

The joy empowers,
the hatred below,
and has vanquished all,
who dare to grow.

The storm in my mind is torn asunder,
and all is silenced, even the thunder.

Although it's a sad refrain it is well written with a nice flow to it. It expresses the hurt & pain well within the poem. not sure what you were trying to say 'the engulfs the heart'- maybe 'it engulfs the heart' Ravensong
