you start with school
grade school, high-school, university, ect
work hard, earn good grades
be fastidious show your punctilious
jump through academic hoops
show your a sharp shooting shock troop
graduate to the top so your the cream of the crop
collect a decade of debt to prove your expense
so the weight of one piece of paper
shows your perfectly capable
of being respected
then pick a field where profit yields
maybe a banker or a lawyer
something where sharks are always roaming
to earn their health insurance
work hard, show initiative be acquisitive
join a few organizations
go hunting and start golfing
make contacts, make some friends
learn the art of calculative handshakes
craft yourself a clever image
of equanimity and composure
to be the boss you must act like a boss
always be perfect and never show weakness
and then you get promotions,
new titles and licences, ranks and privileges
climbing the ladder of the rungs of your peers
from a cube into an office And tin can to a mansion
you can be the golden child if you are persistent
its all just hard work and dedication
the odds are in your favour...
just as long as your not born in the barrel of poverty
born into the haves and not the have nots
lack a two parent house hold
that's called a good family
or are born with disability
or be a visible minority
if your not smart or clever
or just a little bit pretty
if your too old
and are everyday gritty
if you don't know how to lie
or you don't know how to cheat
if your convinced their rules are fair
then your the one whose beat.
If you don't have skills to go in for the kill
then your in for a blinder when you meet the meat grinder
the story of success
is the door of the privilege
