The Sun Poem by Heath Gunn

The Sun

Do you ever question
the sun up in the sky?
Do you ever take the time,
to ask the question why?
Why that burning ball of gas,
oh so far away.
Can make us all feel happier,
can brighten up your day.
The warm caress of summer sun,
an evenings pink sunset.
Dancing shadows on the park,
incase we should forget.
That the sun has shone for countless years,
and will for many more.
It gave light to your day of birth,
and will cast warmth on your corpse.
