The sun shines brightly upon my face
As snow has filled and donned this space
I watch my breath wisp in the air
A cardinal red, I stop and stare
Snow so crisp below my feet
Long forgotten the summer’s heat
Children sledding down the hill
Oblivious to this winter’s chill
