the sun pours down
hot rays upon the earth
scorching everything laid bare
and lightening up the day
the rain pelts the earth
with droplets of water
atimes with mad ferocity
other times with
the gentility of a lover's
embrace
the earth has no choice
in the say of things
takes whatever comes along
as there can be no debate
with the powers that be.
