The Surgeon Poem by Sheena Blackhall

The Surgeon

A pianist learns his music
He plays an old joanna
I learned to be a surgeon
By stitching a banana

You've fallen off your pony?
Torn a limb in a gymkhana?
Just send for me: I'll see you right
I've stitched up a banana

You've suffered dismal karma
Too ill to reach nirvana?
I'll give you a lobotomy
Stitch you like a banana

You've fallen into the Amazon
Been chewed by a piranha?
Bring me your flesh to reconnect
I've trained on a banana

A wild hyena ripped you
On safari in Botswana?
Bring me your trembling haunches
I have sutured a banana

A bear ate your appendix
In the Rockies in Montana
I'll soon tie tight that gory gap
Remember that banana!

A lion whipped your scalp off
In the African savanna
Quick fetch it back & bring it here!
I'm quick on a banana

You're driving can be careless?
You've just run down your nana?
There's just so much my skills can do
I can't sew pulped banana
