The Tale Of My Shooting Star Poem by Monlano Amir

The Tale Of My Shooting Star

I walked away to the forest's edge
I walked away from a secret pledge
The night was dark like my heart
They were intertwined and would not part
I let the wind carry the sound
Of a woman in grief which was profound
And in this haze i did not see
The man who hid behind a tree
And a sudden blaze lit the sky
A shooting star just up high
To which I stood and did say
Listen, star, i demand u stay

Listen now, to my melody
To you I bequeath my history
When I was born, the earth did shake
An omen, they said, her heart will break
My mother tried to defy my fate
'You are strong' she would dictate
And when I was young and so very green
She was my savior and my queen
But soon she went away to die
Her only legacy was my sweet lullaby
I grew with wealth from my father's side
He ruled a peasant's village, large and wide
But he left me too, with a gaurdian
Who taught me ways of pleasure's sin
We were wed after a long year's wait
I believed i found my long last mate
Oh shooting star in the dead of night
Plz grant me a wish, a single sight
Of my beloved's face, of his dark eyes
And i shall tell you the truth and lies
There was a time of laughs and joy
Of mirth and fun and being coy
I woke up once to a nightingale's song
To the sun's light kiss that which I long
To a sweet caress of a lover's lips
To water's bliss going down my hips
And I rode my steed down the hill
To look upon the poor ppl still
In deathly silence did i desend
And none was alive, foe or friend
I glanced then, at my castle home
At its fallen walls and broken dome
I ran to see if my love had life
Or if i was alone to bare this strife
Oh, shooting star if u were there
U'd see a glimpse of sorrow, true and rare
U'd hear my cries and see my pain
U'd cry along as i screamed in vain
For there was no soul who had not fled
And left me there, wishing myself dead
So you see my star, your light does shine
I ask you to return what once was mine
To loose myself in romance's bliss
And steal from my love a wanton kiss
I want to hear the nighingale
Its song of peace that will prevail
I want back what was lost to me
The life i had so to you i plea
Now i stand in utter defeat
I ask you make my life complete
A glimpse i wish of his loving face
And horror and pain it would erase
To you I bequeathed my history
Plz, oh star, solve my mystery

To which the star then took it's leave
And the man stepped forth, and i could not believe
His face, his lips, those beautiful eyes
My love stood proud, looking wise
I shook and reached to touch his cheek
He spoke the words that made me weak
He spoke his love, his pride in me
And asked that i stand strong and free
To not let pain hold me in chains
To let the sea take his remains
And then my love did disappear
I felt stabbed by a poison-filled spear
My knees gave way and i met the ground
To which i screamed a dying sound
And felt the earth wrap me in
Like silk it touched my fair pale skin
I welcomed the hold, the warm embrace
The last sight i held was my beloved's face
