The Task Poem by Randy McClave

I would take on the task
To put on and wear a mask,
So, I wouldn't get sick or pass on a disease
From a cough or even from a sneeze.
I would wear it whenever I was going out
And wearing one I wouldn't scream or pout,
Because, my conscious would always undoubtedly say
I could be saving someone today.
To make sure a child or anyone doesn't get infected
To that I would never objected,
I would also happily take a shot or a pill
My thought would be someone might heal.
In my arm I don't mind getting a injection prick
To help me and others not to get sick,
And when I wear a mask on my face
It's for the health of the human race.
I'll wear a mask the same reason I wear clothes
Because, what I wear is what I chose,
I'll take a vaccine to protect me from a virus or a cold
It's my decision, and I'm not being controlled or told.
So, for a disease or a virus not to be caught
I will unconditionally take a shot,
And to show others that I do care
For their health and mine, a mask I will wear.
