The Teacher Of Word Art - Poem by Janice McCann

For Dr. Sharon Meltzer

Her mast'ry flowed from within her being,
Allowing all to savor the moment.
The gist of lines from ages long ago,
Not lost on us what these words truly meant.

The force of her emotion did come through,
With light and laughter, and sometimes a tear,
We felt life in the words she did utter,
And know on our hearts this magic did sear.

Entering class with novice-like wonder,
Merely hoping the bards' words she'd explain.
Unto us alit a gift so unique,
Forever changed, a new art did we gain.
