The Tears Of The Night Poem by chris schwartz

The Tears Of The Night

Rating: 5.0

The tears of the night
They fall silent
On the ears
Of those who never
Listen.
Had they heard,
Tears would stream
For moments lost
Loved ones left behind
For the sacrilege
Of their own desires.
Their cries echo in the heart
Of the being who has already
Earned the trust of
Those most doubted.
They see beyond.
The future
Is not whitewashed,
It is not painted pretty.
Camels have two humps,
But they still,
Cannot store enough water
To survive.
For all of this,
I have fought.
My own self,
And yes,
Yours.
But I have realized, ,
That fighting
Does no good.
And that goodbye
Is inevitable.
A wave goodbye
To the future,
Casting the "middle finger"
Saying,
"I'm sick of you too."
And all I can hope,
With all my passion and longing,
Is that someday,
Through all the trials
And crazy tribulations
You experience in your life
That you will have
The ability to figure it out too.
