In shadows deep, a thief doth creep,
With stealthy steps and purpose dire,
To steal the light, to sow the blight,
And leave a trail of dark desire.
Cometh he, a harbinger of woe,
With cunning hand and heart of stone,
To take what's not his own, and sow
The seeds of chaos, all alone.
He steals the joy, the hope, the dreams,
Of those who trust and those who care,
Leaving them shattered, lost it seems,
In depths of sorrow and despair.
He seeks to kill the spirit's flame,
To steal the essence, all that's true,
To leave a void, a haunting shame,
A world bereft of love and hue.
But lo, the thief shall meet his fate,
For justice waits with eyes of fire,
To bring him down, to nullify,
His wicked deeds, his dark desire.
In a home his tale is told,
A cautionary song of greed,
Of one who sought to steal and hold,
But found himself in direst need.
So let us heed this tale of woe,
And guard our hearts from thievery,
Lest we become the ones who know
The bitter taste of misery.
