The Three Poem by Randy McClave

The Three

A millionaire is looking to make another dime
A working person is working a job full time,
Both, are in their prime
A poor person is looking not to commit a crime.
A millionaire is not wanting to be in the red
A working person is working to buy milk, eggs and bread,
They both feel their own dread
A poor person is just looking to be fed.
The millionaire always relaxes
Because, the working person always pays the taxes,
While both grind their own different axes
A poor person never truly relaxes.
A millionaire is eating caviar and sailing on his yacht
The working man fishes in the boat he's always sought,
Both, are excited to see what they caught
A poor person is looking for a fish in his pot.
The millionaire never helps the needy or the poor
The working person does when he leaves the store,
Both, enters and leaves the very same door
The poor person wishes he had more.
The millionaire never gives donations or tithes
The working person does because they save lives,
Both, always hear the same hunger and the needy cries
The poor person has few allies.
A millionaire pays pennies so someone to dig his ditch
A working man knows he stands a better chance at being poor than rich,
Both, have a different desire and itch
The poor person knows how to sew a stitch.
The millionaire spent his life helping himself and making more pay
The working person spent his life helping as God did say,
Both, have walked a different way
The poor person always did give thanks and always did pray.
The three one day die and before God they all will stand
As in the scriptures God had already planned,
One stands with manicured nails on an unblemished hand
The working person and the poor parson enters into the promised land.
