The Tiger Cage Poem by Thomas Thompson

The Tiger Cage

January,28 2013

The Tiger Cage

An endless plane
All I coud see
Journeying aimlessly

Under stark skies
Blazing sun
Where days had no end

Time standing still
As I watched the world march by
In such imperfect gait

Those who saw me hurrying by
Offering no solace
Until I finally understood

The cage I was in
Was not created by they
But by Me and I alone

Breaking free not possible
Until I truly understood
That which eludes me

I can only control what I can control
What I cannot I must let go
Else the walls will always be

Tommy
