The Time Is High Poem by Zerina Kathrada

The Time Is High

I took my pen and struck my head. Bare!
I knew this was the great bend,
of all those memorable times we shared.
Perhaps if we try we could it mend.

When we shared our mornings together,
To a symbol of friendship did our souls bind.
I thought those times will last forever.
But now it is all drowned and does not shine.

She kicked my feelings until it was scarred.
She sucked my blood until nothing could be.
She isolated my emotions until was marked.
She was like a horrible beast besides me.

I was weak and full of pain.
Unable to move, helpless to the core.
Suddenly I hear a thin voice of gain.
Saying, ' Come let's try once more.'
