The Title Is At The End Poem by Benjamin K Duncan

The Title Is At The End

Lost. That word never used to mean anything when I was in your arms, breathing your breath.
Pain. Was never an issue. You lifted me from my pain. You made me forget, like a drug.
Not only forget, but like my life had never happened before I met you.
It was like, I had nothing to forget or remember, when I was with you.

Pain has a meaning, pain is your absence.
Like a child crying out for their mother,
but I can no longer cry out to you.

I am LOST, you were my map and compass.
I don't know where I am,
everything seems new, and it's scary.
Scary here without you.

I don't even know if the sun exists.
I couldn't tell you, not that you would listen.
I don't even know how writing this helps.
I've just been hearing noise since you left.

Well, if you listen, and you hear me.
Can you let me know
if you still love me.
