The Torturable Torturers Poem by Martins Ajulekun

The Torturable Torturers

Rating: 1.0

The jailers
whose lanky hands
TORTURED
the jailed
who
SAT
hopefully
on a long queue
of monetary crimes
like the right-handed criminal
Now
STAND
on a longer queue
of monetary trials
TORTURED
by a hopeless rude sun
whose separation
from the gentle rain
birthed a seasoned
harmful harmattan
like the inflicted Egyptians
who benefited painfully
from their long strokes of pains.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The poem is didactic as it serves as a reminder that even the jailers who pompously torture their fellow human beings and put them in a cage under a strict monitoring could be jailed and tortured by natural elements lesser than them in order of creation..
