The Town Dude Poem by Paul Warren

The Town Dude

Rating: 5.0

When he walked into the room
All eyes were turned and girls swooned
If counting points out of ten
He got full marks without pretend

And he stayed in the bar and entertained
Until after midnight the liquor was not distained
As he left the bar he was just as cool
With some man-crushes made within the rules

And as he stepped out on the street
An 18 wheeler and him did meet complete
With crushed bones and ripped up face
And broken hearts that sobbed and raced.

A sadder story in the town was not heard
Take nothing for granted the moral not erred.
