The Town's Dark Haired Rose Poem by Francis Duggan

The Town's Dark Haired Rose

A dark skinned dark haired beauty of eyes of dark brown
The fairest by far on her side of the town
As nice a person as one could wish to meet
She carries joy with her when walking the street
So down to earth in her ways without any guile
She greets everyone with a beautiful smile
In her early twenties the town's dark haired rose
She looks so attractive even in casual clothes
But the wanderlust in her for lands far away
One in the hometown who has no wish for to stay
She plans to enjoy life and do her own thing
And it seems she will be far from home by the Spring
Her roadways of life will lead her to elsewhere
To far bigger towns in the big World out there.
