The Train Ride Poem by Monica M Engeler

The Train Ride

It was an early September morning,
I just got out of bed,
Got dressed for the day,
A big yawn described my frowning.

There was a train ride coming today,
Not sure how my suitcase would hold,
It was packed so full tight.
Oh please hold closed for the long way.

A call from below cried, ˋcome on lets go.‘
Here I come, my bags and me are are ready,
A bus drove us to the train station,
There was along red train waiting for us below.

Suit case and all traveled aboard the train,
The sun was blazing warm on my window pain,
Then a final whistle blew, and the line rolled forward,
A voice was heard crying tickets, simple and plain.

The long winding venture was about to go a fore
8 hours of beautiful scenary waited before our eyes,
So excited about the venture,
My friends chatted without a bore.

Every corner had a mountain covered with snow,
Every town had a specialty shop,
Every valley had a beautiful lake,
Every road was winding and bending a show.

Six hours have passed by now,
So much to talk about with each other,
A snack came around to enjoy,
Then a whistle blew for the final town.

Here I am in this beautiful land,
The final ride to our trip has come,
And then a large hotel stood before,
Welcome and enjoy whats at hand.

Those mountains were everywhere,
Those valleys carved the landscape,
Those lakes fed the valleys view,
And, yes those shops were always there.

The hours passed by in an instant,
Tomorrow always had new stories,
The nights rewarded a happy hour and a dine,
Then there was a night sky in abundent.

Then alas, the story came to an end,
Good night, it‘s tomorrows way.

Good night.
