The Traitor Called Death Poem by Haley Revell

The Traitor Called Death

Crimson blood won’t wash away
Even when hope begins to fade
I sit now, back against the wall
Wishing someone would call
But I know in hard times
No one cares about my life

Death would be a better friend to me
Only death can hear silent screams

So many times I thought I knew
Now I only wish it were true
Where are they now? My friends,
Will they be here in the end?
When death holds hands with my dreams
Why is nothing as it seems?

Oh sweet death do you hear my call?
Will you catch me when I fall?

I feel like I’ve run a thousand miles
Just to see a friendly smile
But nobody turns to look at me
I thought they cared
I was deceived
Now in darkness I am blind
Looking for an answer I cannot find
But now I see clearly
It’s just so hard to believe

Death let me hear you sing
Let me hear your serenade ring
Temptation, sweetest poison
Shot full of euphoric venom
Up is down, sideways is straight ahead
Deep inside I feel I’m already dead
Just put me in the ground
What I lost will not be found

Death, where are you? I’ve been waiting
My life is hear for the taking

Death please betray me
Don’t leave me to the nightmare fantasy
Even death has abandoned me
Left me to my silent screams
