The Truth Poem by Dorris Y. Lewis

The Truth

You may ask why I waited so long,
The doors, was closed, and I was so young,
I knew then what I wanted to do,
Tried very hard to see them through,
Miss understood, way back when,
Times was hard, patience grew thin,
Through connection, "reality" was "fraud"
Lies, Lies, Lies, I heard it all
Trust in people, to a degree,
Found out "trusted people" was only make believe,
It's time for everything, life is not a dream,
Failure, is a part of life, some day to try and make it right.
