The Truth Is Not What I Want It To Be Poem by Shalom Freedman

The Truth Is Not What I Want It To Be

The truth is not what I wanted to be
Not about
The creation of the universe
The creation of humanity
The story of humanity on earth
The scope and character of the universe
The special protection given to each one
Who acts in in the right way-

The truth is not what I want to be
About Justice on Earth
And for Humanity
The truth is not what I want it to be
Apparently not
About humanity's future
The truth is not what I want it to be-

And I can pray against the truth
Deny the truth
But I know
The truth and reality
Are not what I want them to be-

And who am I after all
And what difference does it make
To anyone else but me
That the truth is not what I want it to be?
