The Two Hours I Died Poem by Bamukunda Hillary

The Two Hours I Died

The two hours that i died
Eyes couldn't blink
Ears were deaf
Hands couldn't move
My tongue failed me
Words lost in the sea
And a log just lay asleep
Just because her

The two hours that i died
Mourners non existent
I could only hear whispers
From just hallucinations
Thoughts yet I couldn't think
Laughter's yet I couldn't smile
Cries yet nobody would weep
I looked on as I died
Just because of her

The two hours I died
I knew I was going
She brought me to the grave
She showed the way to die quickly
She told me of the six feet
And the soft soils and that to dust i would return
All this she did silently
But I read it in her eyes
And in the two hours I died
Waiting for her breath as a wreath.
