From tiny start, a quest so grand,
A single cell, across the land.
Boldly it swims, a hopeful quest,
Chasing a prize, putting all to test.
Drawn by a signal, a faint, soft gleam,
Eager to reach its destined dream.
Forward it pushes, a determined stride,
Going and going, nowhere to hide.
Finding the way, through fluids deep,
Getting closer, while secrets keep.
Hoping for union, a special chance,
Hurrying onward, in nature's dance.
Into the darkness, a journey so bold,
Joining the mission, a story untold.
Keen on its purpose, a race to be won,
Knowing its task must soon be done.
Lithe and it wriggles, with all its might,
Leading the charge, in pale moonlight.
Moving so swiftly, a tiny speck,
Making its journey, without a check.
Nearing the goal, a membrane so near,
Needing to enter, to banish all fear.
Opening pathway, a lock to release,
Offering entrance, bringing sweet peace.
Pushing right through, a mighty small feat,
Producing new life, oh so sweet.
Quickly it merges, its journey complete,
Quietly blending, a destiny to meet.
Reaching its target, the egg bright and round,
Ready to start, where life can be found.
Slowing its pace, its purpose now met,
Softly it settles, no regrets.
Transforming itself, a change takes hold,
Together they're building, a story of old.
Uniting their essence, a single new start,
Undergoing changes, right from the heart.
Vibrantly changing, a new form to take,
Very carefully, for goodness sake.
Welcoming growth, a new life to be,
With hope for the future, for all to see.
Xenial to new cells, a family to grow,
Yearning for life, to brightly glow.
Zealous in purpose, its journey is done,
Zeroing in now, to become someone.
