The Vine Poem by GodBody O.G

The Vine

The grapevine hangs low
so the streets are a buzz
The beast grows angry
but still I show love
The whispers keep comming
it's getting hard to figure out
Are they trying to help
or just sewing seeds of doubt
Been here before
and ignored all the talk
Didn't know then
that my love would walk
Words mean nothing
actions speak and I expect the same
It's my decision
so in the end I can't complain
I watch friends get abused
then complain about their men
I see friends get misused
then complain about their men
Put themselves in that position
stuck without a plan
All I can do though, is listen
until they cut my helping hand
I know I'm not Mr. Right
and I gave up being Mr. Right now
Not up on no abusive behavior
which is how I get down
This is the last time
and I mean to see it through
Cause when it's over
there's no reading book 2
