The Vision Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

The Vision

In the night of the vision,
Drink and be drunk and vomit it out!
For you will fall and rise no more.
Lightening have lightened up the productive land,
But many will visit you after your death;
And today she is in love with another man.
A person who cannot learn is not part of me,
So lert us preserve the integrities of our elders;
And like the burial and the funeral rites of our cultures,
Because your love echoed to me last night!
I stood and looked but you were nowhwere to be found,
Not even your footsteps were able to be traced;
For your shadow of love was gone forever,
But i am the beauty of love brewed in the African pot.
