Alcohol, it has a voice,
It lodges in your brain,
And once you listen to it,
You'll never be the same.
At first it's just a whisper,
The words are hard to hear,
But they become more audiable,
The message is of cheer.
A charasmatic ditty,
A lilt of devilish tone,
A drink will reassure you,
You'll never be alone.
Now the voice is getting louder,
And it begins to sing,
And you can't help but chime along,
It has a pleasent ring.
Of course you meet some others,
Who hear the voice you do,
Some fasinating new friends,
Imbibing, no one's blue.
So the fun's begun, the world is yours,
And you can have it all,
Just listen to that little voice,
That comes from alcohol.
But the tone becomes deceptive,
And you may start to doubt,
Then it will reconvince you,
There is no fun without.
And now the dose increases,
The voice is at demand,
But friends are there, the game is on,
It's more than you can stand.
Soon things become confusing,
The voice is not so clear,
And it begins to laugh at you,
While holding you so dear.
Unexpected comes a tragedy,
When all had gone so well,
The voice had out right lied to you,
and sent you straight to hell.
Too late it finally hits you,
You answered to it's call,
But not the voice's fault you see,
It was the alcohol.
But voices can be silenced,
Behaviors modified,
There's just two ways to do it,
Live life or drink and die.
