The Voice Of Love Poem by Maclawrence Famuyiwa

The Voice Of Love

In your eyes is the language often spoken by love,
The hat on my head didn't hesitate to passionately doff,
But you responded as if your voice was cracked by a dry cough,
Though. to your rejection of my words, I have made my skin tough.

But when I heard your words, they were full of wisdom,
To your ear then I pleaded for your heart to be in my kingdom,
Because your goodness is the only cure for my boredom,
And it is then your love will trap my freedom.

Your beauty is the rose nature planted in my garden,
My mouth chuckles to free my heart of this burden,
But the right words to express my love seemed to be hiding,
And I guessed that you really thought I was kidding.

But I left my heart on my face tọ allow your beauty to pry.
It is just for you to open, to see the pool of tears left by my cries,
Had you felt my tears you'd have seen that it could make fries,
Why don't you then give my love your warmth before its feeling dries?
