The Voice That Slipped Away Poem by Sumita Jetley

The Voice That Slipped Away

His voice was once a river's flow,
Strong and clear, with tales to show.
But then the cracks, the strain, the break,
Left him wondering what step to take.

He tried the teas, the lozenges too,
But nothing worked, the pain just grew.
Until one day, a simple sound,
A bubble rising from water found.

With pastilles in hand, and patience gained,
He sought the help to ease the strain.
A coach, a breath, a posture tall,
He learned his voice could rise and fall.

And though the process was slow and strange,
Blowing bubbles brought the change.
What seemed so silly, small, and light,
Became the key to setting things right.

Now Ravi knows, the path's not straight,
But simple steps can unlock fate.
For in the bubbles and the breath,
He found his voice, and conquered death—
The death of hope, of skill, of sound,
He rose again, his voice unbound.
