The Warmth Poem by Mystic C...

The Warmth

I had hoped that one day, one day the cold air would be replaced
One day the frozen lake would crack open
Just so that i could place my hands in its warmth
So i could drink to cure my parched lips
When i saw the small grass peak through the snow
My heart alight with flames, i knew it was a sign
Of something good to come, something that would make a difference
To my lonely world....
I laid in the snow, making angels, making memories
Led on by the change, made to believe things would be new
And as i woke from my ruffled pillow in the mornings glow
I saw a spectre floating through the sky
And the robins they were singing singing out to me
everything will be OK, every thing's better at last
Even though the snow was there a million people appeared all aware, each smiling
Oh with rosy cheeks which lighted the sky and hands as warm as summer then i asked to the man above
Why is the earth so cold, why is the ground so bitter
That was when i knew the change was in the people
The land around us was naturally cold, yet just as me it would become warm one day
Of Course on that day we could all place our hands together in the warmth of the lake
We were ready, awaiting what ever year, month and day that would come....
