The Watch Displays Poem by Mohammad Younus

The Watch Displays

The watch displays
Time that moves
In measured steps,
Never to retreat.
You're leaving soon,
Seventy-seven years,
Yet it feels much more.
Soon, you'll step
Beyond the earth's hold,
A final farewell,
Bitter and sweet.

Into the arms
Of the waiting life stream,
That flows and flows,
Never to cease,
Before the final hour,
When it falls
Into the ocean,
Waiting for its lover,
Whom it has always loved.

You pack with joy,
Pleased and pleasing.
Eyes meet the divine,
No words to speak,
Only final steps,
To meet the beloved.
