The Way It Goes Poem by William B. Deutscher

The Way It Goes

The day fades,
wearing thin.
Night begins,
again.
The stars shine
from a far-distant time,
glimmer
of the past.
We, Homo sapiens,
simmer momentarily,
going so fast
to a vast nowhere,
neither here nor there.
To be
and then not to be.
