The Weight Poem by Patrick O'Reilly

The Weight

Kiss me, Kate, I feel the weight
Of the world upon my back
And let's exhalt (with a grain of salt)
The qualities I lack
For I'm not so poor as the parish mouse
Nor as ugly as the streets
But somehow, Kate, I feel that weight
Wrapped 'round my hands and feet
