Many a time, we question God,
“Why should I suffer in these ways?
Will I not see some better days?
I wish I were dead than alive! ”
‘The weight’s too much for me! ’ we say.
‘The burden seems too heavy, God;
How longer must I walk this way?
Do I deserve this unfair rod? ’
Ev’n Moses tried to query God.
‘Why should I lead these people bad?
Is it my fate I should suffer?
Isn’t there any reprieve for me? ’
‘Why treat me in this mean way, God? ’
Please kill me outright, if You want;
I can’t bear this ignominy!
Am I to suffer for others?
The living God we know is fair;
He cares for us and loves us much;
He loves us more than we deserve;
He won’t permit trials galore!
God knows the human limits well;
God knows each one’s weaknesses too;
He does not test hearts overly;
God is a merciful Being!
Why fret and fume and question God?
Why murmur, grumble against God?
God doesn’t forsake nor abandon:
God knows the limits we can take!
‘O’er-burdened, come to me for rest! ’
-Lord Jesus Christ tells us often.
Trust in the Lord. Things will be fine;
Nothing’s impossible for God!
