The Wesak Full Moon Night Poem by Priyani Lekamwattage

The Wesak Full Moon Night

The Wesak full moon,
Rises from the eastern sky,
That remarkable night,
More than thousand years ago,
Prince Sidhdhatha,
Was born in Lumbini,
The prince,
Fed up with,
The material world,
Renunciated later,
Look for the truth,
Become a Ascetic,
Again another,
Wesak full moon day,
Ascetic Gauthama,
Attained Enlightenment,
Became,
Lord Buddha,
New religion was born,
New order wasestablished,
Lay people followed,
New religion were accepted,
Slowly spread in India,
Again,
Eighty years later,
Lord Buddha Gauthama,
Passed away,
Under the two trees,
In Lumbini,
Another wesak full moon day,
But Millenniums later,
The Buddhist in this planet,
Celebrate,
On Wesak full moon day,
Every year.
