The Whispering Voices Poem by Young Church Poetry

The Whispering Voices

Rating: 5.0

In the head they whisper;
‘What a complete loser’
As sharp as a barbed wire
Cuts through a wretched spirit
A ghost to fight tooth for tooth
Once you let the voices in
You let the deceiver win
‘The sky is yellow’
The voices whisper

In the air they whisper
‘Do as you like my child’
As sweet as mouth-watering honey
Skin tickles to the sound of money
Biggest smile ever to reach the ears
Talking breeze fools the world
Once you listen to the sweet voice
You listen to the sweet liar
‘Golden life is on offer’
The voices whisper

To the heart they whisper
‘It’s time for change of hearts’
As sweet as a vanilla tongue
Perseverance not on the map
Anybody can fall into the trap
Persons are showered with choices
Once you hear the voices
Hear only the true voice
‘You know right from wrong’
The voice whispers.
