The Wild Heart Poem by Alexander Thomas

The Wild Heart

Put your inquisitive ear to my chest my dear,
What advancing rumblings can you hear?
Listen intently to the ground for what is coming,
As the hooves of many wild horses running,
The rhythmic power of a galloping herd?
Or the steady flapping wings of the free bird?
Can you fathom the wonders of its stirring deeps?
Are you curious about the exotic secrets it keeps?
Its echoing palatial atriums span high,
Let yourself go and together we will fly!
Your wild heart will come to me,
As the feral heart will always be free!
Bound to suffer no enduring misery,
Its immortal power a compelling mystery!

Heart to heart this passion let's kick-start!
Run, run with me!
Heart to heart beating together in art!
Set ourselves free!
Heart to heart never again to be apart!

We can penetrate those thick walls,
Faithfully following our true calls,
Only for you the heart gapes,
Tread carefully through the velvet drapes,
Down its twisting passages to meet,
Mixing with ever intensifying heat,
The great bellows fanning the fire,
Feeding the flames of insatiable desire,
Bursting with all the colours of red,
Crimson, ruby, scarlet - For you all are bled,
At the source where the soul glows,
From which the opulent fountain flows,
Take a drink from the loving cup of my warm blood,
And let it be your light, your life and the blooming bud!
