The Winners Crown Poem by Rik Bertrand

The Winners Crown

I have wandered away into an unfamiliar place,
I have become something other than part of the human race.
Do not attempt to trace my steps or find my soul,
I have totally lost all my will and control.

Driven by a force that processes the strength of many
This is only the beginning of the end of our destiny.
I have wandered from gods path and landed in an alien Hell,
I must find a way to save our world, I must not fail.

Fault must be put on my mischief and devilish ways,
I have lingered too long in the heat on these blistering days.
My humanity has been aborted and I am lost to all,
Life had me answer to my sins, and I took the fall.

Do not despair for you can save yourself and your loved ones,
You can continue a life without pulling out your heavy guns.
I have sacrificed myself so that these aliens will back down,
The human race, for now, still holds the winners crown.
