The Witch I Love Poem by Brett Carter

The Witch I Love

She wore a pentacle
And a plain brown dress.
I am not really too sure,
I must confess.

Why she loved me?

She danced her heart
Entranced my soul
The circle protecting
And deity extolled

Then the witch
She smiled to me.

Incantation rose as embers
Tears filled my eyes
Magic words remembered
Until I realized

That witch I loved
Had chosen me.

Then... all she wore was a pentacle
Without a plain brown dress
She danced her heart then stood still
Waiting for an answer
Of my own free will

Submitting her love
To a man like me.

She's given me not a
Single day of rest
But devoted her life
And given the best

Loving me in her pentacle
And that plain brown dress
