The Witness - Poem by Faith Elizabeth Brigham

she has a new name
a new life
a whole new identity
it is not due
to amnesia
nor was it by choice
it is for
one reason alone-
she saw something
she wasn't
supposed to see
now she flees
to another country
in the hope one day
she will return
to a life of normalcy
