The Wonderworking God Poem by Jocelyn Dunbar

The Wonderworking God

Marvelous Father
I magnify your highest, your marvelous
amazing God!

As I can see the beauty of your creation,
as I look back on my life, I can realize
things in the past, the present, and the future,
As I can imagine how you do constant things
to all, as I can view, smile across the deepest
understanding I have in mind for your
greatness and power.

As I can see people as to how you move
and working into individuals' life.
The stars twinkled in the night beautiful
insight, the sun that gives heat to the cold
weather keeping us warm,
As the rain pours out to keep the plans
grow and the flower to bloom,
As the whole galaxy moves according
to its orbit, Ohh! I praise you God to your
highest deeds.

In the darkest place of my life, I cannot
see the light; in the dullness of my shadow
my being I cannot find;
My sorrow, my pain, my hurt,
I cannot stand it; you know better than I.

I praise you, Lord, you will be done on
earth as it is in heaven,
As I live day after day give me a daily bread
And keep me in the evil one.
As I go on and walk here in the world
doing, acting things to be done,
As I can touch and reach individuals in
the roadway as I pass them all,
As I live according to your will and
mercy I endure;
As I can see you are working until the end
your grace is sufficient for my needs
more than I expected.

From beyond any point, from a distance
way long the working wonder of you
moving to the universe
' The wonderworking God. '
