I saw my mask the other day
He looked at me and said
"What are you doing here -
I thought you were fine? "
And for a second
I wanted to remind him
About how vulnerable he left me
But the look in his eyes said
He would have nothing to do with it
"Nothing" I whimpered
As I walked away
But the truth was that I never felt quite safe
I'd always feel as if society
Was out to get me
And no matter what I did
I was on the losing side of the ball game
