The World I Dont Belong Poem by Alyssa Marquardt

The World I Dont Belong

Rating: 5.0

I'm in a whole new world
a world I don't belong.
Unlike you, no one here knows my song.
They can't even point out the tune,
They can't tell when it's rock and when it's blues.
They couldn't tell if I had been crying.
Wouldn't care if I was lying.
If they know my true lyrics would they care?
I sit in a room full of many people and I feel like I'm not there.
Like I'm a fly on the wall-
Or nothing at all.
Numb to bliss and annoyed by sounds.
I feel like I might be the only one around.
I just want to stay,
in you comfortable embrace.
I wanna spend forever in my rightful place.
I wanna be by your side.
And tell you the truth about all the lies.
Tell you of my dark grey skies,
I want you to know-
That you're the only thing
that gives my hopeless feelings hope.
I look forward to our conversations everyday.
My only oasis
from the world that makes me feel this way.
It's funny that no one can really see.
That no matter where I am,
With you is where I want to be.
Not just where i want to be
but where I need to be.
Without the comfort of your love
there would be no me.
Even when my lyrics change,
you seem to always no my song.
So I thank you for being the reason
for my survival in this deadly world I don't belong.
