The World Outside Calls Me Poem by Shalom Freedman

The World Outside Calls Me

THE WORLD OUTSIDE CALLS ME

The world outside calls me
It is sun and light and meaningless small adventures
My work however is here
Sitting inside and writing slowly lines no one will read-

Ah let me finish this please
Let me be out there walking
Let me be free again
Even if only for a brief time
Even only as an illusion-

I soon will be out there
Thank God.
