The World Turned It's Head Poem by Ethereal Eden

The World Turned It's Head

Genocide is happening
Newspapers read.
Nobody heeds them
'Cause the world turns it's head.

So many murdered
The rivers run red.
Nobody sees them
'Cause the world turns it's head.

Women are raped
Their dignity shed.
Who gives a damn?
'Cause the world turns it's head.

I remember in history
The lessons that were taught to me.
'Bout how all those Jews had died,
They said we hadn't known
But I found out they lied.

Villages plundered
Shot full of lead,
Who would have known?
'Cause the world turns it's head.

Old men and women
Like slaughtered sheep bled.
Nobody cares
'Cause the world turns it's head.

Children are orphaned
Sick and unfed
Nobody cries
'Cause the world turns it's head.

I remember not so long ago
In a country named Cambodia,
When Pol Pot and his evil crew
Were killing in the fields,
Millions they slew.

Might be an alien ship from afar,
Might be a deadly microbe,
Spilt from a jar.
What would we do
In our fear and our dread,
How could we cope
If God turned his head?
