Ethereal Eden Poems

A poet once admonished
The man he loved so well
Poised on the brink of Heaven
Or the Gates of Hell
...

If ever you should wander
Onto my mountain top,
You'd be most warmly welcomed
If desiring to stop.
...

Water, green as his eyes.
Memories float,
Near and far,
Like clouds in the island skies.
...

Seems to be the question
Being asked most everywhere.
Misery beyond belief,
Begging daily for relief.
...

And he once loved me.
Together forever
I thought we would be.
But Fate came between,
...

A promise made, then broken
Like a vase, when it hurts the floor.
Lying injured, unable to muster
The courage to try anymore.
...

Where be the dreams
I had in my youth?
Those pale knighted legends
Defending the Truth,
...

I misspent my youth
Searching for Truth,
But found that
There's no final answer.
...

Genocide is happening
Newspapers read.
Nobody heeds them
'Cause the world turns it's head.
...

We were living a collective dream,
Where fairy tales can come true.
When you were chosen by the Royal Prince,
We lived our dreams out through you.
...

I looked at the picture, ALL THOSE FLOWERS!
As if stars in the midst of the day.
And looking I felt, I could be one myself.
For the fortunes of life, are scattered like seed.
...

Never 'gain his love I'll feel
For chains have bound my heart.
Never 'gain sweet laughter laugh
For all I've known has split apart.
...

A rainbow in the desert, a garden in the sky.
A teeming, colored, spectral arc, that spans from eye to eye.
A neon light protruding, from an ancient pot of gold.
An ever flitting butterfly, that escapes this mortal's hold.

Ain't comin' back,
She's gone to meet
Her Maker.

Do Not Go Gently

A poet once admonished
The man he loved so well
Poised on the brink of Heaven
Or the Gates of Hell
That if his life was over
And he was going to die
That with his last remaining breath
Spit in The Reaper's eye.

He said,
Do not go gently
Into that dark night
Don't lay your spirit down
If you still can fight
Another day is dawning
But the work has just begun
And there'll be no victory
Until it's done

Now another curse be on us
This one as if from Hell
And whether we defeat it
Only time will tell
But we will do our damnedest
To turn the lethal tide
So that one early morning
We can take sweet victory's ride

Do not go gently
Into that dark night
Don't lay your weapon down
If you still can fight
Another day is dawning
But the war has just begun
And there'll be no victory
Until it's won
