The Worth Of A Woman Poem by Bryan Taplits

The Worth Of A Woman

When I was young, so was she
A little brittle marveled memory.
Our childhood knew no fear
While a dear photo of her in my mind
Still ensconces away so far-
but yet is always undeniably near.
These days my cane is all of my company
And I have too many years to review-
or recall
But some are too dear for me not to greet
And so I welcome those-
and eagerly meet them all.
Yesterday, I saw your photo in my local paper
Still demure and-as ever-
a smiling darling.
That's when a flashback hit my heart
And I realized then that though my present times
were glue they now soared,
And also that rubies tend to appreciate
At those times when you see them
no more.
