The Yoke of Rome Poem by Raymond A Foss

The Yoke of Rome

Rating: 4.5

The independence from Rome
through off the yoke of Caesar
the king of England
would oppress us no more

Declaring our freedom
our trust in God
seeking our happiness
life and liberty
unencumbered by tyranny
breathing free

A new covenant
a contract of men
not to a king but ourselves
ever to be true
joined together
that all would be free
out from under
the yoke of Rome
to walk in liberty
