The Yugoslav Wars Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

The Yugoslav Wars

Were secessionist wars
Of vested interests
Of vested parties,
War crimes
Committed by not
Nationalists, patriots, freedom fighters
But the dictators, despots,
Power usurpers
Nurturing the dreams
Of Greater Serbia,
Greater Croatia,
Separate Bosnia-Herzegovina,
Slovenia, Montenegro, Macedonia.
In the aftermath of the post-Yugoslav period
And these disruptive, rebellious tendencies
Had taken wings during the communist regime.
